Thanks to your generous support, we have hit our goal of over $50,000! However, we welcome more donations to keep this important program running.
Your donation will support women migrant workers in Manikganj, Bangladesh. Women migrant workers in this area face various risks, including loss of income, food insecurity, domestic violence, and overcrowded living conditions. Many of these risks have worsened due to COVID-19.
Together, we’ll ensure that these women receive dignity packages that include 2 masks, a hand washing bar, detergent powder, and basic food items. Additionally, several of them will be engaged through UN Women's Cash-for-Work programs to mobilize their workforce. Finally, a group of returning migrant workers will receive sewing machines, overlock machines, and skills training to produce and distribute masks to economically displaced women and girls heavily impacted by COVID-19.
With your donation,
$10 will buy dignity packages with health and hygiene kits for 3 families
$25 will buy a box with food supplies, masks, and sanitary napkins for 2 families
$50 will provide training to 10 women in COVID prevention and response to save lives
$100 will provide cash-for-work for 35 workers
$200 will purchase supplies to make masks
$250 will allow for women to receive sewing machines and skills training to produce critically-needed COVID-19 masks
Together, we can advance women’s economic empowerment for women in Bangladesh.
