India has been experiencing a record-breaking number of COVID-19 cases and deaths. On May 4, the government reported a total of 20,282,833 cases, with oxygen shortages blamed for the growing numbers in deaths, which now total over 220,000. As the virus spreads, India's health system is collapsing.

To help combat the rising numbers, UN Women is working closely with partners in India to manufacture protective equipment, masks, and hand sanitizers. UN Women is also providing supplies to women and their families without support and educating them on how best to protect themselves against infections.

The economic and social Impact of the pandemic is also causing an increase in domestic violence, with the numbers doubling in the first month of the pandemic surge alone. UN Women is urgently working to keep crisis centers open for women affected by violence during these times.

Your donation will ensure that women get the help they need during and after this crisis.
