UN Women Deputy Executive Director Åsa Regnér attended the meeting of the G7 Advisory Council for Gender Equality in the Elysée Palace on February 19, on behalf of UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

The Council is tasked to provide advice to the G7 Presidency on the Biarritz Partnership for Gender Equality, a legislative package and good practices in favor of gender equality and women’s rights, as well as supporting the inclusion of gender equality as a cross-cutting issue in G7 initiatives.

The three thematic priorities of the Advisory Council are the protection of women from all forms of violence, access to education for girls and women and women’s economic empowerment.

The National Board came together for their semi-annual meeting in sunny Sarasota, FL in early February. They explored new ideas for the upcoming year and discussed their plans for the upcoming CSW 63. 

While in Sarasota, the group visited the Embracing Our Differences exhibit, participated in the Gulf Coast chapter's annual Walk, and enjoyed a lovely dinner hosted by board member, Chris Martin and the Gulf Coast chapter.

The Through Women's Eyes International Film Festival (TWE) will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this April! Featuring 20+ films from around the world, TWE presents the best in groundbreaking films by or about women. The festival takes place April 6th and 7th.

The Chicago Chapter and BMO WISE (Women in a Supportive Environment) hosted “Planning Your Financial Future” on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

The collaborative panel discussion was designed to encourage the open discussion and understanding of financial health among women, and included a diverse panel of financial experts skilled in providing customized solutions across versatile household types and financial experience levels.
