Advancing the Work of UN Women within the Greater Los Angeles Region
Welcome! We are the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of UN Women USA - a coalition of dedicated Angelenos with a common interest in supporting the large scale international humanitarian efforts of United Nations Women while advancing pertinent solutions to global issues within our community.
Through educational events and street actions, advocacy and policy support, we partner with talented individuals, local business and organizations within the Los Angeles region in support of UN Women’s vision for women and girls empowerment and gender equality.

What We Do
We take a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented approach to the issues that impact all women’s lives. Our activities regularly include panel discussions, interactive and educational workshops, safety walks and rides, street actions, health and well-being classes, and more. We support several ongoing campaigns including #SafeCitiesLA #UniteSayNo and #HeForShe.
UN Women USA-LA’s panel events bridge the gap between the specific social issues that bring us together as an organization and experts to share in the cultural and intertextual disciplines that inform these issues. We’re regularly reinvesting in ourselves as leaders by integrating many different examples of leadership in our programming.
SayNO UNiTE: Street Actions
We hold Street Actions in various neighborhoods in Los Angeles to raise voices against gender-based violence and encourage communities to get involved.
Safe Cities LA: Safety Walks and Rides
Our safety rides and walks give the community the opportunity to see ourselves in each other.
We host and participate in immersive community building workshops throughout the year. We relish this chance to bring people together and engage with them on a creative level.
Some of our past workshops include self-defense workshops, exploring gender biases in the workplace, and unpacking all forms of division.
Art, Dance, & Music
We integrate arts into our social activism and advocacy work. We strive to connect people by creating and sharing art that resonates.
