Gender Equality Panel: Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Tech and Innovation

Join us for the Young Professionals Committee's first Speaker Series event in partnership with SAP Next Gen.  It will be held at Venture Café on  Thursday, September 19 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and the theme is "Gender Equality Panel: Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Tech and Innovation". The event features a panel discussion on the challenges women face in advancing in the technology sector. According to data compiled by virtual event solutions company, Evia, women make up less than 20 percent of U.S. tech jobs, even though they make up more than half of the U.S. workforce. The discussion will aim to identify those key barriers and the actions we need to take to activate change.

2019 VIP Cocktail Reception & Film Screening

Our annual  fall film screening is scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 16 at 6:00 pm at the Miami Dade College Koubek Center, 2705 SW 3rd St, Miami, FL 33135. This year's film is CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap. CODE is a documentary that exposes the glaring gender bias plaguing the U.S. technology sector. It follows a number of professionals and subject matter experts as they weigh in on issues facing the tech industry. It focuses primarily on diversity’s relationship with workforce development, education and retention. The film also explores the origins of computer science as a field and the important role women initially played in its growth. Proceeds from this event will support UN Women programs in over 100 countries. Drinks and light bites will be served.
